The Covid19 pandemic brought a whole new challenge to photographers and creatives who have been forced to work from home. As a portrait photographer, I was stuck in a little bit of a dilemma, as for obvious reasons, during lockdown we could not meet up with clients.

so...

I started doing FACETIME PHOTOSHOOTS! Sounds nuts doesn't it? However, this new form of photography has blown my mind with its endless creative opportunities. FaceTime Photoshoots have pushed my creative limits and imagination to a whole new level and have taught me so much more about what photography is about.

LOCKDOWN is a project I have been running throughout lockdown in the UK. It consists of a series of FaceTime Photoshoots taken all over the world. I have been lucky enough to photograph people all over the UK, but also as far away as places like Australia and New Zealand. It has been a time to celebrate technology and its abilities to connect us together from even the furtherest corners of the world.

LOCKDOWN is going to be created into a fine art book, all profits will be donated to Alzheimer's Society. It will be a time capsule on paper, displaying how creative boundaries were pushed during the pandemic and an excellent way to show how we could still connect and create together, despite the dark times we were living through.

During these FaceTime sessions, I discovered that simply an hour a day of creativity became the highlight of people's day's whilst they were stuck at home. It was an opportunity for everyone to be super models for an hour, and to get creative together. Most of the creativity was put into where my models had to put their phones! I think I had been taped to cans of baked beans and bathroom ceilings, we needed to get imaginative so we could get the perfect shots.

LOCKDOWN also became an opportunity for people to celebrate and capture life events that were happening during our time inside. I feel so blessed to have been able to celebrate birthdays and new born babies with complete strangers over FaceTime, however quickly to discover new friendships from across the globe.
